Resumen

Los sensores moleculares también llamados quimiosensores son unidades moleculares que se componen de un elemento de reconocimiento (molécula), un elemento de señalización y un espaciador para emitir una respuesta analítica. Son de gran interés para la detección de diferentes contaminantes entre ellos metales pesados porque son altamente sensibles a bajas concentraciones del analito de interés, son de bajo costo y brindan respuesta en tiempo real permitiendo la detección In situ, mediante la variación de la intensidad de fluorescencia o la variación de la longitud de onda fluorescente.

En este trabajo se presenta una revisión bibliográfica de sensores colorimétricos con respuesta fluorescente para detección de metales pesados en matrices ambientales específicamente en plantas. La propuesta y desarrollo de sensores moleculares basados en fluorescencia es de gran importancia para tareas de detección In situ de metales pesados en aguas de riego con fines de consumo humano. Por otro lado, se resalta la necesidad de implementar herramientas computacionales que permitan establecer parámetros de configuración para el diseño de sensores moleculares basados en fluorescencia y colorimetría.
