Recognizing classroom work and its connection to society has become an increasingly important and common element in engineering education processes in Colombia. Taking projects beyond the classroom and engaging other stakeholders allows students to face situations that strengthen their skills in abstraction, synthesis, communication, and planning—essential for their professional performance. This showcase of the best undergraduate engineering projects aims to highlight progress that begins in the classroom and reaches communities.

Objective

To recognize the talent of undergraduate students in the development of their projects within work groups.

Who can participate

Undergraduate students from engineering faculties, schools, or programs. Projects may be submitted independently or with the support of professors and companies, if students have the primary role in the work to qualify for this category.

Methodology

Projects will be presented exclusively in poster format. Selected works will be displayed on September 24.

Authorship restriction

An author may be listed in a maximum of two papers.

Requirements

  • The project must result from a research group initiative or social/entrepreneurial venture.
  • Most team members must be undergraduate engineering students.
  • The team may include students from one or multiple institutions.
  • The work must have approval from the faculty dean or the academic program director.

Proposal Submission

Teams must submit their proposals within the stipulated dates.

Accepted papers will be published in the ACOFI Conference Proceedings (ISSN). Full papers will be hosted on the OCS platform at www.acofipapers.org, and assigned DOI and ISSN identifiers.
