Within the framework of WEEF (IFEES & GEDC) 2026, experiences and proposals developed by faculty and researchers in the field of engineering education will be presented. These papers, based on classroom practices and academic research, will address the following topics:

  • Quality in Engineering Education: Initiatives aimed at strengthening standards, continuous improvement processes, and institutional best practices, including the use of emerging technologies for monitoring and analyzing educational indicators.
  • Classroom Teaching Assessment: Strategies, methodologies, and tools to evaluate the impact of teaching on student learning, incorporating AI-based solutions for educational data analysis and personalized learning processes.
  • Curriculum Development: Innovative proposals for updating curricula to meet local and global challenges of the profession, integrating content on AI, data science, sustainability, technological ethics, and digital transformation.
  • Teaching and Learning Processes: Experiences, pedagogical approaches, and educational resources that promote comprehensive, relevant, and transformative training, supported by digital platforms, simulators, virtual laboratories, and AI-based adaptive learning tools.

These contributions will foster reflection on how engineering education can adapt and lead in an environment marked by technological acceleration, automation, and the need for human and digital competencies to build a more inclusive and sustainable future.

Evaluation Criteria for Full Papers

Full papers will be evaluated under a double-blind peer-review process on a scale of 0 to 1,000 points. The selection process is binary, with a minimum passing score of 750 points required for acceptance and publication.

Scoring Rubric and Weighting:

  1. Category Consistency (15% | 150 pts): Validation that the full paper’s development maintains the thematic focus under which the abstract was originally accepted.

  2. Originality and Innovation (25% | 250 pts): Assessment of the novelty regarding content, processes, or proposed solutions compared to conventional methods.

  3. Relevance and Contribution (25% | 250 pts): Technical and academic utility of the content. Evaluation of whether the proposal represents a clear and transferable contribution within its field.

  4. Evidence of Impact (20% | 200 pts): Presentation of concrete results derived from the application or experience of the authors, the institution, or the represented context.

  5. Unpublished Nature (5% | 50 pts): Verification that the material is original and has not been previously published or presented in other venues.

  6. Content Specificity (10% | 100 pts): Rigor in the presentation of ideas. Penalties will be applied to generalities that do not result in a specific technical contribution or concrete conclusions.

Notes

  • Finality of Results: The reviewers' decision is final and unappealable. By submitting their work, authors acknowledge that there will be no additional review stages or communication regarding rejection decisions.

  • Approval Threshold: Only papers with a score of =/> 750 will be accepted. There are no partial approval categories or invitations to alternative presentation formats for scores below this threshold.

  • Originality Verification: The organization utilizes similarity detection tools. Confirmation of plagiarism or lack of original/unpublished status will result in immediate disqualification from the evaluation process, regardless of the score obtained in other criteria.

Methodology

Papers will be presented exclusively in oral format during the time slots specified by the organizers, between September 23, 24, and 25. According to the corresponding thematic axis, they will be presented in parallel sessions and will conclude with a Q&A session within the available time.

Authorship restriction

An author may be listed in a maximum of two papers.

Who can participate

  • Professors, administrators, and staff from engineering schools and programs.
  • Research groups from engineering schools and programs.

Publication in IEEE:Xplore

Accepted papers will be published in the ACOFI Conference Proceedings (ISSN). Full papers will be hosted on the OCS platform at www.acofipapers.org, and assigned DOI and ISSN identifiers.

All Full Papers will be reviewed according to strict IEEE requirements. Accepted papers that are presented at the WEEF 2026 will be submitted to IEEE for potential inclusion in IEEE:Xplore.
