Recognizing the best research projects by doctoral students is essential to support and encourage the development of scientific research aimed at increasing the contribution of technology and innovation to society and industry.

At WEEF (IFEES & GEDC) 2026, the work of Doctoral Students in Engineering will highlight talent, innovation, and the quality of research conducted during their doctoral dissertations. To this end, papers will be evaluated within the following thematic areas:

a.        Agroindustry and Food

Research covering production, industrialization, and commercialization of agricultural, forestry, fisheries, and food activities, or aimed at improving operational efficiency in these processes.

b.       Bioengineering and Biotechnology

Basic or applied engineering research addressing aspects related to life sciences and the use of biological systems to develop products and processes for specific applications.

c.        Electronics and Computer Science

Research in automation processes, control systems, information technologies, software engineering, or algorithmic processes for digital information processing, among others.

d.       Industry

Studies involving manufacturing activities for transforming raw materials into final or intermediate products on a large scale, as well as research considering resources involved in the production chain.

e.        Infrastructure and Territory

Studies on the relationship between territorial elements and infrastructure planning and development, such as transportation, energy, water systems, or telecommunications for territorial support and development.

f.         Environment, Energy, and Sustainability

Research contributing to planetary and territorial sustainability or addressing the impact of human activity on the environment.
