Abstract

Aging is a stage of life full of potential, where experience and accumulated knowledge can become drivers of personal and social development, however, it is often associated with the loss of skills and opportunities, which generates barriers that limit the participation of older people in society. This proposal seeks to strengthen their capacities, promoting their autonomy and wellbeing through strategies that stimulate continuous learning, social interaction and the recognition of their fundamental role in society, through an integral and intergenerational approach, which is why the initiative encourages the connection with other generations, allowing the exchange of knowledge, the revitalization of skills and the creation of spaces where the voice and experience of the elderly are valued and used for their growth and that of their environment.

The project proposal arises as a response to problems such as ageism, technological gaps and the underestimation of the potential of older adults, these barriers not only limit their inclusion in the labor market, but also in roles where their experience could generate a significant impact. Instead of considering aging as an obstacle, this initiative redefines it as a stage full of possibilities, provided that strategies are generated that respond to both their needs and their strengths.

In the educational area, activities will be designed to maintain the cognitive agility of older adults, combining mathematics and physics concepts applied to everyday life situations; this practical approach will not only strengthen their problem-solving skills, but will also boost their confidence and autonomy. At the same time, in the social area, cultural encounters, collective readings and artistic workshops will be promoted to encourage the exchange of ideas, reduce isolation and strengthen community ties.

From the technological aspect, an accessible and friendly communication platform will be developed to facilitate interaction between generations. This tool will allow the elderly to access educational resources, participate in interactive activities and collaborate with young people in social innovation projects, promoting bidirectional and enriching learning, reducing the digital divide, this initiative can boost their possible participation in the silver economy, as well as expanding their opportunities for personal development.

The project seeks to position older adults as agents of social change, recognizing the value of their experience and breaking with the stigmas of aging, this initiative promotes a more equitable and inclusive society, where the wisdom of older generations becomes an invaluable resource. In turn, the young participants will develop empathy, respect and leadership by interacting with older adults, strengthening the intergenerational bond, so that far from being a barrier, aging represents an opportunity to continue growing, teaching and leading, therefore, by promoting the active integration of older adults and strengthening collaboration between generations, this project will not only improve their quality of life, but will also promote a cultural change that values all stages of life.
