The teaching-learning process of the Statics course in the Mechanical Engineering program presents challenges in understanding concepts that require abstraction and analytical reasoning. This study focuses on the development of a didactic strategy based on the use of MATLAB® as a computational and visualization tool to enhance active learning and conceptual comprehension of the subject. The research arises from the need to design innovative teaching methods that capture students' interest and facilitate the assimilation of theoretical content, overcoming the limitations of traditional approaches. The proposed strategy involves the creation of MATLAB® programming routines that allow for the modeling, simulation, and visualization of common problems in the course, providing students with practical tools for applying theory in real-world scenarios. To assess the impact of the strategy, a measurement process was designed based on the analysis and evaluation of both operational and analytical learning outcomes, offering a comprehensive view of the effect of MATLAB® programming on learning in Statics. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in the academic performance of the study group, especially in competencies related to autonomous use of digital tools and graphical interpretation. Statistical analysis revealed a high percentage of students achieving upper levels of performance, along with low dispersion in several evaluated competencies, indicating consistency in progress. It is concluded that the implementation of the MATLAB®-based strategy supported the appropriation of theoretical concepts, fostered logical-analytical thinking, and strengthened technical skills, representing an effective didactic alternative for teaching the Statics course.
