Abstract

The purpose of this pedagogical experience was to strengthen the research competencies of students in the third and fourth semesters of Engineering programs. This was achieved by implementing a formative research strategy focused on collaborative groups involving both teachers and students. The initiative employed a STEM approach, encouraging students to develop projects that effectively integrated theoretical knowledge from basic science subjects and discipline-specific courses. This strategy enabled students to make meaningful connections and apply theoretical content practically. After monitoring the process over three consecutive semesters, improvements were observed in the quality and complexity of student projects, as well as significant advancements in their communication skills.
