Abstract

To estimate the level of skills of graduates of Industrial Engineering, Industrial Process Engineering and Production Engineering in 2025 with work experience from 36 to 300 months, the SDX test from Psigma Corp was used.

The Psigma Corp. SDX test provides aggregated results of cognitive abilities, emotional intelligence and 5 groups of competencies: Intrapersonal, Cognitive, management, interpersonal, and results, and these will be the subject of this report in aggregate for the subset of participating HEIs and programs.

The report is prepared within the characterization exercise of graduates with the SDX. Even though the SDX instrument for each of the competency groups provides the results in detail, breaking down into 28 competency factors.

This as pre-sampling to propose a significant sampling plan in this regard to the graduates who studied in 8 programs in Higher Education Institutions, IES, participants in the Network of Deans and Directors of Industrial Engineering, REDIN, in its Center Node, which is part of the Colombian Association of Engineering Faculties, ACOFI. A group of professionals from other engineering fields and a group of people between 25 and 50 years old without higher education studies.

The sample included IES from Bogotá and Neiva; The socioeconomic characterization was previously obtained as a filtering test to proceed to use the SDX, and the respective informed consent. The results found are discussed by comparing the results of 4 groups: graduates in industrial engineering with more than 36 months, graduates with less than 36 months, graduates of other engineering and people without university training.
