La comunicación efectiva y el liderazgo situacional: competencias esenciales en la formación de ingenieros

Resumen

En este artículo se analiza la importancia creciente de las Power Skills, específicamente la comunicación efectiva y el liderazgo situacional, en la educación de los ingenieros, en respuesta a las demandas del sector industrial y a los estándares educativos de calidad. A través de un análisis sistemático de la literatura y la implementación del Test de Liderazgo Situacional de Hersey y Blanchard en 125 profesionales (72% ingenieros) y 10 estudiantes de ingeniería eléctrica, el estudio detectó diferencias importantes entre ambos grupos. Se observó que los profesionales en práctica suelen tener perfiles de liderazgo que hacen énfasis en las habilidades comunicativas y en las relaciones; mientras que los estudiantes mostraron predilección por los estilos de liderazgo con enfoque en las tareas y menos enfocados en la dimensión interpersonal. Estos hallazgos indican que la experiencia profesional promueve el desarrollo de competencias esenciales como la escucha activa, la flexibilidad y la administración de equipos multidisciplinarios, que resultan esenciales para la productividad. La investigación enfatiza la interrelación entre la comunicación y el liderazgo, sugiriendo su incorporación como elementos transversales en la formación de ingenieros para formar profesionales aptos para manejar la complejidad de los ambientes de trabajo contemporáneos.
