Abstract

For the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira it is important to raise awareness from the academy of the importance of metrology, recognizing it as a fundamental pillar and basis of trust in the approach to the management of common magnitudes in areas of trade, market and regulations that regulate relevant elements for the training of engineers and their preparation for working life in the productive sector.

In the continuous search to impact engineering to care for and transform life, bridges are built between scientific-technological knowledge and society, promoting active participation and dialogue to generate solutions to environmental problems.

From this situation, it is desired to minimize the gap of metrological illiteracy and its privileged role in the possibility of contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals through this area of knowledge. In engineering programs, it is important to design, develop and implement technological solutions in collaboration with the communities and actors involved, hence the involvement of strategies in addressing SDGs 2, 7, 11, 12 and 13 that give rise to significant experience through the creation of a Newsletter and production of digital content, on crucial issues such as: food security, clean energy, sustainable cities, responsible production and consumption, and climate action.

The digital content wants to impact the recent dynamics that revolves around the identification of metrology needs, with the support of strategic allies in Colombia and with which it is possible to generate new applications based on knowledge that meet the demands and requirements of the markets.

To initiate this process, work is being done on updating the National Metrology Strategy for the period 2023-2032, ENM 2023-2032. This strategy is aimed at having an increasingly relevant and sophisticated offer that meets the dynamics of the markets, as well as the safety of consumers through the current and future offer of reliable measurements, with better accuracy, precision, less uncertainty and permanent reflection on new technologies that leverage this purpose.
