This study aimed to analyze the value chain of a traditional marketplace, characterized by operational limitations, low adoption of technologies and a low competitive capacity compared to other more modern trade formats. One of the main weaknesses detected is the lack of incorporation of digital tools that favor more efficient, sustainable processes aligned with the current demands of the environment. This research is based on a mixed method by integrating the two qualitative and quantitative approaches.
Key stakeholders were interviewed and surveyed to understand their perceptions, needs and expectations. Likewise, the MIC-MAC tool was applied to carry out a prospective analysis and the level of maturity of the internal processes was evaluated based on the GTCISO 9004:2018 standard. The findings made it possible to identify strategic opportunities for improvement, represented in a visual model of the value chain that shows the critical areas to intervene. In addition, proposals were made to strengthen the competitiveness of the market in the long term through the integration of sustainable technologies and the implementation of more effective management policies.
