This work presents a proposal for the implementation of digital controllers using Texas Instruments C2000 microcontrollers. As a working methodology, an experimental framework was established through three test plants to which a different real-time control strategy was designed and implemented. The contribution of the work performed was focused on the use of the development kit LAUNCHXL-F28379D for the programming of the C2000 microcontrollers, where platforms such as Energia IDE, Code Composer Studio and MATLAB Simulink were used, through which the operation and performance of the implemented control strategies could be validated. The results obtained highlight the characteristics of the different tools available for the implementation of digital controllers in the Texas Instruments C2000 microcontrollers, in addition to the alternatives to access the different resources at hardware level with which these devices have. On the other hand, the implementations made with the C2000 microcontrollers allow us to offer robust low-cost solutions. In conclusion it is highlighted that although these microcontrollers were developed for specific control applications in different areas and are not categorized as a general purpose tool like the Arduino development kits, Beagle Board, among others, having different alternatives at the programming level for the development of control strategies in real time, provides programmers with ecosystems that facilitate the practice in the areas of process control and the development of research with possible applications in the industrial sector.
